About Passkey Flex
Passkey Flex is Passage by 1Password's passkey authentication support to existing authentication systems. Flex allows you to retain full control over your user experience and how you roll out passkeys to your users. It handles the hard parts of incorporating the WebAuthn API (opens in a new tab) and provides a simple, clean solution to take your authentication to the next level.
Utilize Passkey Flex during login and registration or as added security on secure user actions. Passkey Flex is supported in all languages, frameworks, and platforms.
Implementation guides
In addition to registration and login, Passkey Flex can support passkey management and user actions that require more security. Here are some of our more popular use cases:
Frontend
The Passkey Flex Javascript SDK supports all modern front-end frameworks. The SDK provides an easy way to communicate with the WebAuthn API when authenticating and registering users.
Backend
Passkey Flex offers flexible solutions to accommodate any backend infrastructure. APIs are accessible over HTTP, and compatible with any backend language or framework. Additionally, SDKs are available to conveniently streamline the integration.
The Passage API does not store any sensitive user data; it only stores the external identifiers you create for your users. Passage uses these to create WebAuthn credentials to authenticate and register passkeys.
Mobile
Passkey Flex provides mobile solutions whether you're a mobile-only platform or sharing authentication solutions across multiple platforms.
